What OFSTED said

“Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are supported well at the nursery. Swift intervention is provided for those who require additional support. Staffs are confident in their role in supporting children with SEND. As a result of this, children are making good progress.”

“Children with English as an additional language are supported well. When children first start at nursery, they are given a key person who supports them in using their home language as well as learning English. This helps to settle children and builds attachments. Staff help children to progress as they build their confidence in using new vocabulary and language skills.”

“Staff provide well-planned and carefully thought out activities for children to help support their learning based on what children know and can do and their interests. Children show good levels of engagement in their play for sustained periods.”

Little Peepul Day Nursery Open Day

On Saturday, 20 April 2024, Little Peepul Day Nursery at the Peepul Centre held its first open day since lockdown, organised by Dr Santosh Bhanot. The event featured talks by experts Cath Jackson on SENCo, Dr Sanjiv Nichani on screen time management, and Dr Niraj Singh on sleep hygiene, emphasising early childhood development in the digital age.

Attendees learnt how the nursery supports children’s growth through freedom, experiences, and resources. Little Peepul is the only nursery in Leicester involved in The Sparks Art’s Music Champion Project, fostering child-centred music-making.

Nursery Manager Dimple Borsana and Deputy Manager/SENCo Lead Hina Sonagra highlighted their commitment to children’s physical and emotional development, supported by an onsite chef, multi-lingual staff, and Ofsted ‘Good’ facilities.

Cath Jackson explained the nursery’s collaboration with Leicester City Council to support special needs children. Dr Nichani discussed the impact of screen time on children’s health, offering strategies for healthy boundaries. Dr Singh emphasised the importance of sleep, providing tips for effective bedtime routines.

Parents and carers left with practical advice for nurturing their children’s growth and development. For more information or to visit, contact Dimple Borsana at dimple.borsana@peepulenterprise.com or Hina Sonagra at hina.sonagra@peepulenterprise.com.
