Project LALU (AKA Look-A-Lady Ukulele) is an all-female ukulele and lyrics based group, running for 5+ years. The project is led by Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust in collaboration with Bright sparks (voluntary arts in mental health group) and Peepul Enterprise in association with a range of other partners. The initiative is dedicated to health, wellbeing and cultural unity.
The Coffee Morning group was put together by a group of local ladies who just wanted to get together every week for a few hours and get away from all the hustle and bustle of motherhood and daily house chores.
The group provides a comprehensive programme of educational training and leisure activities to suit all.
The Belgrave Baheno Peepul Centre (BBPC) is a registered charity (charity number 1092389) that works with a number of different organisations to help the local community.
The most rewarding thing is witnessing the development of thousands of ordinary women and the empowerment of communities enabling normal people to take everyday control over their own future.

The nursery has been shortlisted and nominated for The Smile Awards, the Early Years Award Category. This is in recognition of all our hard work in promoting oral hygiene in our nursery for under 5’s.
The Smile Awards have been set up to celebrate people and organisations based in Leicester, who have helped improve oral health in Leicester through creative and innovative projects and practices.
Public voting for shortlisted candidates is open from 1st – 31st May. The winner of the Early Years Award will be selected based on their score from the panel of judges and the number of public votes they receive.
There are four award categories in total going to public vote:
The winners will be announced at the Smile Awards Ceremony on 5th June 2019, taking place at Leicester Tigers Stadium from 5.30-8.00pm. The winner will be provided with an award plaque and all shortlisted candidates will be provided with a certificate.

We are very proud of Helen Tolley, one of our fitness instructors. Helen has been awarded the Good Neighbour of the Year award by the Residents Action Committee South (RACS).
She has been given this award for her kind heartedness and selflessness in helping others. She is an inspirational role model to us all, keep up the good work Helen!

Look-a-Lady-Ukulele (LALU!) is a brand new, music and visual arts based project led by Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust in partnership with Peepul Enterprise. The project is designed to boost the health and wellbeing of women living across Leicester and Leicestershire.
The BE [active, happy, healthy] Project is a new and exciting project for BME women of 50+ age. Our project aim is to improve physical health and well-being. Our community programme contains at least two weekly activities.
