The Mehfil Project: Celebrating the Future

Experience an exciting evening of some of Leicester’s finest artistic talent in Indian classical music and dance. This vibrant evening will proudly present home-grown internationally-renowned soloists, Roopa Panesar (Sitar) and Aakash Odedra (Kathak) and an unmissable new performance of ‘Confluence’ bringing BBC Young Dancer finalists Anaya Bolar (Bharatanatyam) and Shyam Dattani (Kathak) together with a live ensemble of expert musicians, Kaviraj Singh (Santoor), Gurdain Rayatt (Tabla) and Abhiram Sahathevan (Mridangam).
This event is part of ‘The Mehfil Project’, a new series of Indian Classical Music and Dance events at the Peepul Centre. Arts Council England and Leicester City Council have funded BBPC to lead this in partnership with Arts Hub, which comprises of Sitar Music Society, Nupur Arts and Centre for Indian Classical Dance.
