The Mehfil Project: Bharatanatyam and Beyond

Take a journey through one of India’s most popular classical dances with Hiten Mistry, Artistic Director of Bharata Natyam Leicester and an ensemble of expert musicians. With moving live music, this brand new commission will be premiered in an intimate setting bringing old and new worlds together by experiencing classical art forms in a way that is forever new.

The unique performance will be followed by a Q&A where the audience will be able to ask the artists about their experience.

This event is part of ‘The Mehfil Project’, a new series of Indian Classical Music and Dance events at the Peepul Centre. Arts Council England and Leicester City Council have funded BBPC to lead this in partnership with Arts Hub, which comprises of Sitar Music Society, Nupur Arts and Centre for Indian Classical Dance.
